Miami Heat Re-Sign Forward For $11M Deal

Haywood Highsmith drawing interest from several teams | HoopsHype

Your Miami Heat announced today that they have re-signed forward Haywood Highsmith. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Highsmith appeared in 66 games (26 starts) with the HEAT last season and averaged 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 20.7 minutes while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three-point range. He has improved his scoring average and shooting percentages in each of his three seasons in Miami and set single-season career highs in every major category last season. He scored in double-figures a career-best 17 times, including a career-high 20 points on March 29 vs. Portland. He scored in double-figures in a career-long six consecutive games from March 24 through April 4 and hit at least one three-point field goal in a career-best six-straight games over that same stretch.

He connected on seven consecutive treys from March 24 through the 26, tying the team season high for the most made three-point baskets without a miss last season. He also led the HEAT bench in scoring nine times, steals 14 times, rebounds 11 times, blocks 10 times and assists on three occasions. Additionally, Highsmith has helped the HEAT make the postseason in each of his three seasons in Miami, including an Eastern Conference Championship and NBA Finals appearance in 2023.
