Southampton Forward Completes Season-Long Loan Move To 3rd Division In Scottish Premiership

Aberdeen have completed the signing of Southampton forward Emily Kraft on a season-long loan deal.

The Dons announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Southampton FC Women sign striker Emily Kraft - SheKicks

Kraft joins Aberdeen on loan after finding first team minutes hard to come by at parent club Southampton. The forward joined The Saints last summer and made 11 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship, however, just one of her outings came in the form of a start. Kraft scored her only goal for Southampton last season in a 3-1 home defeat to Birmingham City.

With there being strong competition for places at Southampton again this season, Kraft has been allowed to go out on loan. She will be hoping to hit the goal trail in SWPL 1 with Aberdeen.

After adding Kraft to his squad, Aberdeen boss Colin Bell said “Emily is a player I know well having worked with her previously and I believe her experience will be of real benefit to the squad.

“I look forward to helping her to fulfil her potential here at Aberdeen.”

Aberdeen kick-off the new SWPL 1 season with a home fixture against Rangers at Balmoral Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Forward Kraft could make her debut in that match.
